Spotlight: Algorithmic JusticE League

If you don't know about the Algorithmic Justice League, I invite you to take a look. Coded Bias is a fantastic introduction to the inherent biases in and harms of Artificial Intelligence, but that introduction to Dr. Joy Buolamwini's work was only the beginning.

​The Algorithmic Justice League shares information about how companies are training AI by using our information and photos. LinkedIn is now collecting user data to train it's generative artificial intelligence systems. The Algorithmic Justice League has a newsletter (linked here) - they recently shared this easy list of steps to opt out:

1. Go to LinkedIn, then navigate to "Settings."
2. Choose "Data Privacy."
3. Locate "Data for Generative AI Improvement."
4. Toggle the button to "Off" to opt out.​

'Knowledge is power' takes on a whole new meaning when using AI unknowingly.
